Welcome to the Spring term in Year 1 and 2.

The children are excited to be learning about the history of our school, who Mary Dean was and why she is so important to us here at Mary Dean's school. They will be learning country dances to see how children learnt dancing in the past, and they will be looking at materials in science. 

In games, they will be extending their ball skills, this time practising sending and receiving using bats. They will gather items from outside for their art unit and will use these as inspiration for drawing, then they will create a wax-resist picture from their studies.

In Religious Education, they will explore what it is like to believe in the Jewish faith, thinking about artefacts that they use and the celebrations they enjoy. They will also be thinking about what learning goals they could set for themselves and how they might succeed in achieving them. They will celebrate Children's Mental Health week and Number Day in maths.
