Our Christian Vision

At Mary Dean’s Church of England Primary School, we are a school family. We believe that every child is unique, valued and loved by God, and that everyone has gifts and talents to share.

Our Christian vision is inspired by Psalm 1:3:

“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season.”

The image of flowing water reminds us that we are all connected. Like streams coming together to form a river, we learn, grow and flourish through our relationships with one another and through God’s love.

Flow Together

We belong to a school family where everyone is valued, welcomed and respected. We celebrate our differences and encourage children to work together, care for one another and recognise the contribution that every person can make.

Grow Together

We want every child to flourish in all aspects of their development. Through an ambitious, broad and engaging curriculum, we nurture children academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We encourage curiosity, resilience and a love of learning, helping children to discover their strengths and develop their God-given gifts.

Shine Together

We encourage every child to recognise that they can make a positive difference. We celebrate their achievements and help them develop the confidence to use their gifts in service of others and their wider community. We want our children to leave Mary Dean believing in themselves, understanding their responsibilities and knowing that they have an important part to play in the world.

Our Christian Values

Our vision is lived out through five Christian values:

These values guide the way we learn, work and live together. They are at the heart of our relationships, our worship, our curriculum and our everyday life as a school.

• Kindness – showing care, compassion and love towards others.
• Honesty – being truthful, trustworthy and taking responsibility for our choices.
• Service – using our gifts to help others and make a positive difference.
• Forgiveness – recognising that we all make mistakes and offering opportunities for reconciliation and new beginnings.

Our school rules of Ready, Respectful and Safe help us to put these values into practice every day.

Our Aims

As a school family, we aim to provide every child with the knowledge, skills, experiences and relationships they need to flourish.
